CTK Talent Quest

Talent Quest
By: Michael Vu and Kathleen

On the 4 of September Wednesday, the whole school went up to the hall to watch CTK’s most talented students, including children from our class JCM (Jack, Christian E and Michael N) and Jasmine. The acts in the talent quest included singing, dancing, gymnastics, comedy and music. Everyone was very excited to watch CTK's talent.

There was lots of acts that were amusing and great to watch. There were all sorts of acts, like children singing to songs, children using a hula hoop At the end of the talent quest, everyone who made it into the talent quest received two packets of lollies for participation.

Finally, it was the time for the judges [our student teachers] to announce the winners. In third place was Georgina in Year 2 who danced to Gangnam Style in a very funny way. In second place was a tie with Rhiannon in Year 6 who played the drums to a rock song, and Jasmine in Year 5 who did gymnastics which really made people flip. In first place was Joseph, who played the piano, that sounded like something in a orchestra.

In the end the talent quest was very amazing, and we can't wait until next year to see what CTK has next. A big congratulations to all students in Year 5 who auditioned and especially to Jasmine, Jack, Christian E and Michael N.

What was your favourite act?

Whole School Project Compassion Week 3

Caritas Hand By Mikayla and Christian B

On Friday 8th of March, our whole school participated in a hand design to raise money for Caritas. We started off by doing a whole school meditation. Then each teacher chose some people in the class to put some coins on the outline of the hand.  We raised enough money to do the outline of the hand and even make some nails. In Week 1 our class raised 127 dollars, Week 2 we raised 61 dollars and 50 cents and in Week 3 we raised 47 dollars and 95 cents.

Clean Up Australia Day

Gardening

By Dylan and Tracey
On Thursday 28th of February 2013 CTK gardened and picked up rubbish for Clean Up Australia Day. In the gardening we planted plants, took out weeds, we watered the plants.  We also found money nearly $11 and we placed it in project compassion.

We used garden tools and a watering can. We also cleaned up because it is nearly Clean Up Australia Day. We cleaned up on the grass area and we planted plants near the canteen. There were bugs in the garden and lots of dirt and branches.  All in all we had a lot of fun!

Bulldogs Visit

BULLDOGS VISIT

By Mahrae, Meg and Christian E

On Monday 11th of February a couple of Bulldogs players came to our school and talked to us about bullying.

We watched a video about bullying, we learnt that bullying can happen anywhere. We also learnt that bullying can happen when you are any age and in any sort of way.

They also had a few competitions were the kids got to go against the bulldogs. There were push up competitions, another one was passing the ball around your body to another person, passing the ball around body versus one of the Bulldogs players and many many more.

Some kids had the opportunity to ask the Bulldogs a question such as:
How many people are in the Bulldogs?
Did you play for any team before the Bulldogs?
How long have you played for the Bulldogs?
Everyone found out that Trent played for Manly before Bulldogs and many other interesting facts.

Thank you to Mr Fieni for organising the visit!
