Behind the News

 BTN
By Mahrae and Gabby N

For the past few weeks in Year 5 we have been watching BTN.  We watch BTN every Tuesday.  BTN stands for Behind The News. BTN is like a news show.  The sections of the show are the wire, score, some times it has a poll or a quiz.  The reporter is Nathan, Natasha does the wire and Sarah and Rebecca are the interviewers.  Some stories that have been reported include:
  • What it’s like to live in a war zone
  • The fires in parts of Australia
  • Electing a new pope and government
  • Should high school start in year eight?
  • As well as many other interesting stories.

We have a BTN discussion group with a Year 5 class at St Anthony's Clovelly. (You can check out their blog by clicking here) We share our opinions with them about what we have thought about the different topics. Thanks to Mrs Quealy and Year 5 at St Anthony's for joining in the discussion with us! We enjoy watching BTN and we all thank Miss Lee for letting us have the opportunity to watch it as well as enjoying it.

What has been your favourite story and why?

  4. Wow that's fantastic Mahrae and Gabby. I really liked how you included what some of the story's were about and how you also put your own opinion about BTN too. I also liked how you said some of the reports and interviewers as well as putting a picture of Nathan.
